The first stage involves compression of the chamber to the recommended pressure. As the pressure increases, you may experience a sensation of ear pressure, similar to what occurs during takeoff in an airplane. This can be relieved by swallowing, yawning, or using the Valsalva maneuver to equalize ear pressure, restoring normal comfort and hearing levels.
Once the chamber reaches the desired pressure level, you’ll breathe 100% oxygen through a mask.
After maintaining the desired oxygen pressure for the recommended duration, the chamber is slowly and safely depressurized, concluding the treatment.
